What made you choose your current career path?
I have been interested in computers/technology since I was little, mostly because of gaming. The only question for me was whether to take up a computer hardware, software, or networking course.
During college, I figured out that I excelled in software development, I liked learning about new programming languages, mobile and web UI design, and seeing the flow of the code. So, I took up software engineering at Portsmouth University.
What do you like best about your role?
I like working on web and mobile applications and discussing new ideas with the team, and with clients. It is also nice to continue learning about software development and design, optimizing current view components, learning about new platforms, or sometimes learning about a new programming language.
What do you like to do away from work?
I like spending time with my partner, family & friends. I also listen to music and watch random series or movies in my free time. I like taking my dog Lopee for a walk and sometimes playing in the park with him. During spring & summer, I spend most of my free time gardening; I mostly plant fruit-bearing plants.
The best thing about being part of the Asckey team?
The best thing about being part of the Asckey team is the relationship we have built over the years. Most of my colleagues have worked for over 10 years in Asckey and it is a testament as to how well the company looks after their staff. We all know each other’s expertise; we can ask anyone a question or ask for help and they are always willing to share their ideas and help (most times for free, sometimes with cream cakes).
Who is your favourite sports team?
Los Angeles Lakers (NBA).
Where has been your best holiday destination?
Outside the UK: Coron, Palawan, Philippines (unbiased).
In the UK: Lake District
Are you a tea or coffee person?
Coffee. I’ve been told that I’m grumpy in the morning. That’s because they talked to me before I’ve had my coffee.
