"Our Eclipse-fm® Facilities management system web module provides simplified access to the Facilities Management system allowing for non specialist staff to create and track maintenance and repair tasks. New staff are enabled by providing a log-in and password, and can use the system from any browser equipped PC of any make. The detailed task scheduling etc is carried out via a Windows desktop application, using not only the same data, but the same application code, so we don’t have to develop and maintain two separate applications".
The Belgian developer NICE Software B.V. has created a very extensive "ParaNICE " electronic Patient Record application which is entirely web based. ParaNICE allows healthcare professionals to record their findings, and allows the back office staff to plan the patient visits, including multidisciplinary and group sessions.
This application illustrates how far Web Applications can now take on complexities that have traditionally been seen as the province of local, Windows bound desktop applications." We are now deploying it [via the Web] as an ASP and it works like a charm! Now we only need to discuss functionality with our customers, not the techniques of deploying and installation."
