Visual Report Writer

VRW LogoSmallVisual Report Writer is a new report generator for use by end-users as well as software developers. It is an uncomplicated, easy to use reporting tool that can access any server data base and any other data accessible via ODBC available at a very competitive price.

VRW is developed in Visual DataFlex, the state-of-art software development tool from Data Access Worldwide.

For report building fast & easy, the ‘Report Creation Wizard’ steps users through each phase of creating a report from selecting data sources all the way through grouping, filtering, summarising and sorting, The result is a fully functional report in a visual drag & drop design interface where the report can be further modified or saved and run as-is.
 
Once created, the subsequent visual design interface gives the user full control over layout and programming functionality. The language used in creating functions is a familiar, VB-Like script-language. 

Database Support
Any database that is accessible via ODBC can be used as a data source, for instance Microsoft SQL Server, Pervasive.SQL, Oracle, etc. Access to MS Excel and MS Access are possible as well.
 
The embedded DataFlex database system is supported with no need for extra connectivity kits. Any database that is accessible via ODBC can be used as a data source, for example Microsoft Microsoft SQL Server, Pervasive.SQL, Oracle, etc., again with no extra connectivity kits required. Access to MS Excel and MS Access is also possible.

Data Access Worldwide is pleased to announce the availability of Visual Report Writer 2012 v2.1.

In the 2.1 product many bugs have been fixed, version 2.1 supports long table and column names, is DPI aware.

Please note that the 2.0 and the 2.1 product requires new registration codes compared to the 1.x product. You should contact your local distributor if you did not receive a new code yet.

The 2.1 product uses Visual DataFlex 2012 (v17.0) as its engine.
